The Utopian Dream (Brunch Everyday)
brunch (brən(t)SH/) - noun - 1.) a late morning meal eaten instead of breakfast and lunch.
While the above definition certainly describes the meal it's probably more accurately defined as a celebratory meal, enjoyed between friends, typically on the weekends that include copious amounts of mimosas, bloody mary's and coffee. While there are limitless brunch options in this city that include bottomless cocktails (albeit technically illegal) and straddle various culinary spaces typically (mexican, french and new american).
If you've ever worked in the restaurant industry (or have worked a job that runs weekends) you've probably found yourself disgusted with your friends countless Instagram's of bubbly champagne and fluffy pancakes. Well we've got some good news for you. We've found the answer.
"this specific establishment serves brunch EVERY SINGLE DAY!"
We recently stumbled upon an establishment in Brooklyn (Bay Ridge specifically) that's worth the somewhat long ride on the R Train (or the cost of an Uber). Cebu Bar & Bistro has been a neighborhood staple for over 15 years in Bay Ridge. And yes, this specific establishment serves brunch EVERY SINGLE DAY! To put that into perspective if we assume 52 weeks in a year a normal restaurant will serve up Egg's Benny 104 times in a given orbit of the sun. In comparison this place is cranking out the hollandaise 365 days a year.
The Bloody Mary's ($10) are on point. The Chipotle Chicken Sandwich with Fries ($14) off the charts. The place has enough indoor and outdoor seating to accommodate a small army, and the staff is well disciplined like one.
